Music in the Garden!

June 8, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

$10

Calgo Garden’s 2nd Annual Benefit Fundraiser in Support of
“Connection thru Music”

• A day of live music, workshops, raffles, and other memorable experiences. (See listings below.)
• $10 donation/admission will give you 10% off purchases from Calgo’s THE BARN and Nursery.

Calgo Gardens is privileged to host a day of music and fun to benefit a program we whole-heartedly believe in and support. Your admission donation will benefit (and go in full to) Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey (CVCJ) and its Connection Thru Music program. This intergenerational program pairs those challenged with Alzheimers or dementia with a young volunteer who uses the enduring power of music to reach people whose connections to life and joy are slowly slipping away. It is our goal to bring attention to their work and help it flourish.

Music has the power to effect our moods, uplift our spirits, and bring back memories. And for the more than five million people in the U.S. suffering from Alzheimers, music has the power to change their world. Not only can hidden emotions and memories be stimulated by music but music can also help to manage stress and attitudes. Music and singing engage people who are suffering from dementia and stimulates interaction between them, their loved ones and caregivers.

Opening remarks: 10:00 am. Come make some connections through music! Bring friends and family and learn about  CVCJ, how you can help—or how they can help you!

Please consider a donation, in any amount, in honor or in memory of a loved one. To contribute, click here or scroll to the end of this post and click on the CVCJ logo.

*Musicians On A Mission: Our mission is to create connections and inspire giving through music. We raise awareness and funds for local charitable organizations through planned musical events showcasing New Jersey performers.

**High Strung: Jenny Woods’ creative world was turned upside down the day she discovered that her old guitar strings were a perfect medium for jewelry design. I couldn’t believe what a rich trove of possibility had literally been right at my fingertips. The realization that guitar strings could be repurposed for jewelry ignited a spark. In a perfect melding of her love of music and passion for creating… High Strung Studios was born offering handcrafted guitar string jewelry with a unique design aesthetic as well as uncommon gifts for the eco-conscious musician or music lover. With great attention to detail and craftsmanship, her “wearable music” strikes just the right chord.
