The Art of Making Pysanky Eggs
March 26 @ 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm$34
Come celebrate spring with Jenny Santa Maria in this unique opportunity to learn Pysanky—also known as Ukrainian eggs, a folk tradition that is both art and prayer.
This is a skill that is traditionally passed down by the Matriarch of the family.
Jenny Santa Maria, an experienced batik egg artist for over 12 years, has taught thousands of people this therapeutic and meditative process and encouraged meaningful conversation around family history and this ancient art.
Jenny will provide a variety of eggs, many traditional and non-traditional colored dyes, and tools for each person to create their own egg. A great deal of patience and concentration is required to complete a single egg.
All skill levels can create an original pysanka. All supplies included in workshop fee.
* Wear a smock/apron/old shirt, and please bring a container or old egg carton to take home your creation.
