The Life of a Monarch Butterfly
September 7 • 10:00 am - 11:00 amFree
Monarch butterfly populations are declining due to loss of habitat. A Monarch Waystation is simply a garden that has both milkweed plants—which Monarchs feed on as caterpillars—and nectar plants that they use for nourishment as butterflies.
By creating and maintaining a Monarch Waystation, Calgo is helping to ensure the preservation of the species and the continuation of the spectacular Monarch migration.
Join Jean as she discusses the life of the Monarch. Observe the various stages of development that are currently here at Calgo. We’re hoping to release some butterflies as well.
Learn how you can encourage Monarchs to your yard.
This program is free and open to all ages.
