Music in the Garden & A Day of Wellness

Help bring music back into the lives of our elderly, veterans & Alzheimers’ patients.
Your $10 donation entitles you to a 10% discount in the BARN, entries to give-aways, & other prizes & sur-prizes!!! Admission donations go in full to Connection thru Music and will help train volunteers to bring joy back into people’s lives.
This special event is a fundraiser benefiting Connection thru Music, an intergenerational program of the local CAREGIVER VOLUNTEERS OF CENTRAL JERSEY—which trains young volunteers to visit and bring music to community members, including the elderly, veterans, people living with Alzheimer’s & dementia, and their families. *A life-giving program—Connection thru Music
The creation of Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey’s program, Connection thru Music, was inspired by the award-winning documentary, Alive Inside which illustrates the power of music to “awaken” memories. Music becomes a bridge to friendship, memories, and sense of self otherwise lost to the disease. This program is a powerful tool to create empathy and empowerment in our youth and help reduce the stigma that surrounds those with this disease.

Caregiver Volunteers of Central Jersey, through their Alzheimer’s Respite Care division, provides critically needed services to families dealing with the overwhelming challenges presented by this disease.
We can all help!
The intent of Calgo’s “Music in the Garden” fundraiser is to bring attention to their wonderful intergenerational program, Connection thru Music, and help it flourish in Monmouth County. The program trains young volunteers to bring friendship and music that resonates to each person they work with.
Every $50 we donate from this event will provide one young person the following tools to foster a friendship and reintroduce their elder “buddy” to the music of their life:
• Resources/Training on Dementia, Aging, Music and the Brain for Volunteer, Adult Mentor, and Young Person
• Alive Inside All in One Headset/Splitter and SD Memory Card
• Training on how to use the Alive Inside App to create a list of the songs of their “buddy’s” life
