Words & Herbs Winter Retreat

Words & Herbs

Kick off your weekend with us at a special retreat at the Global Roots Garden at Calgo Gardens.

In the spirit of new beginnings, enhance your self-care and wellness this winter with Words & Herbs, a special half-day retreat designed for attendees to go inward while connecting with community and nature.

Hosted by Project Write Now in collaboration with MotMot Collective, the day is mainly spent in a cozy yurt at Calgo Gardens, where we kick off with a grounding meditation, some journaling and intention-setting, before moving into an herbal tea meditation, which is immediately followed by lunch.

The registration price includes a delicious and nutritious lunch, which is catered by the Tulip Tree Cafe, where we enjoy the meal. Registrants have an opportunity to select from their menu options, including choice of arugula salad or butternut squash soup, as well as their choice of sandwich (options include Waldorff chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad and grilled vegetable).

Following lunch, we take a short silent meditation walk through the gardens before returning to the yurt for some group writing, sharing, and crafting before we depart. We look forward to carving out some time to honor the slow pace of winter together!

Project Write Now offers no refunds or credits once registered, except in the unfortunate case a class or event is cancelled. We reserve the right to change instructors if necessary. We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule any class, workshop, or event because of low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us at [email protected] or call 908.675.0467 for more information. Please note that when you register for a class you are reserving one of a limited number of spots available. Your registration also counts toward our consideration of class minimums.

Our organization was founded to help amplify the voices of those who are often not heard—including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other historically marginalized groups. We have witnessed how writing and sharing stories has the power to effect change by generating greater love, compassion, and empathy in the listener. In all of our programs, we provide an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment. We do not tolerate writing that perpetuates harmful stereotypes or fuels hate. Failure to align with our philosophy can result in your removal from class.
