Words & Herbs Spring Retreat

April 11 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Words & Herbs Spring Retreat
In the spirit of rebirth, enhance your self-care and wellness this spring with Words & Herbs, a special half-day retreat designed for attendees to reawaken after a long winter, while connecting with community and nature.
Hosted by us, Project Write Now, in collaboration with Mot Mot Collective, the day will be spent in a cozy yurt at Calgo Gardens, where we will kick off with a grounding meditation, some journaling and intention-setting before moving into an herbal tea meditation, which will be immediately followed by lunch.
The registration price includes a delicious and nutritious lunch, which will be catered by Tulip Tree Cafe, where we’ll enjoy the meal. Registrants will have an opportunity to select from their menu options.
Following lunch, we’ll take a silent meditation walk through the gardens, where we will notice and identify the first plants of spring emerging, before returning to the yurt for some group writing, crafting, and sharing before we depart. We look forward to carving out some time to honor the unfurling of spring together!

Our organization was founded to help amplify the voices of those who are often not heard—including Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other historically marginalized groups. We have witnessed how writing and sharing stories has the power to effect change by generating greater love, compassion, and empathy in the listener. In all of our programs, we provide an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment. We do not tolerate writing that perpetuates harmful stereotypes or fuels hate. Failure to align with our philosophy can result in your removal from class.
