Kokedama Ball Workshop

Create a floating garden for your home or patio!

Join nursery manager, Taylor, and the Calgo Team for a complimentary lunch (your choice of soup, half sandwich, drink and dessert provided by the Tulip Tree Café) and a workshop designed to teach you how to create a Kokedama Ball using either succulent or fern.

Each participants will make their own Kokedama Ball to take home.

Calgo staff will provide guidance as you build a bog planter using Sarracenia, commonly known as Pitcher Plants. Not only are these unique insectivores easy to maintain, but they are also both beautiful and interesting.

Plant Swap!

Community members come together, sharing plants and knowledge at this fun social event!

Bring your pest and disease free perennials, houseplants or seeds to share with fellow plant enthusiasts.

Bring each plant in an individual container, marked with plant's basic information. For each plant you bring, you will receive a ticket to "purchase" or "swap" another plant. If you bring 5 plants you'll receive 5 tickets, and so on. Everyone will draw a number from a hat and take turns choosing their new plants!

Kitchen Garden Workshop

Learn how to plant, care for, and harvest your own fresh produce on your kitchen counter or right outside your back door in this fun and informative workshop.

Calgo's nursery manager, Taylor Edgington, will be leading the class along with aeroponics (soil-free tower growing) and microgreens specialist, Rosemarie Bird of Bird's Family Farm and aquaponics specialist, Cody Parker, owner of Drop the Beet Farms.

Taylor, Rosemarie, and Cody will share examples of various styles of gardening including use of Veggie Pods, Sunblast Mini Greenhouses, tower gardening and aquaponic gardening. They will also be teaching participants the ins and outs of how to plant a garden, organization, timing, pest management, and companion growing.

Participants will leave the workshop with a lot of new gardening know-how and a free seed packet to start their own Kitchen Garden!

Complimentary appetizers will be provided by the Tulip Tree Café.
