The short, gray days of winter can leave you longing for a bit of green—and Drop the Beet Farms’ greenhouse is full of greens to nourish your cravings. Locally grown, fresh, organic greens in the middle of winter? Yes, please!
Located at Calgo Gardens, Drop the Beet Farms is a cutting edge, organic, aquaponic farm brightening the winter with their lush greens gardens. While other farms await the spring, founder Cody Parker can grow through the winter season using the aquaponic method.
Brightly colored lettuces, herbs and greens all grow in an orderly fashion on floating rafts. The long roots thrive in this environment allowing Cody to harvest fresh produce all winter long.
You can arrange tours of the facility with Cody who will enthusiastically share his wealth of knowledge.
